Yunnan Baiyao toothpaste is the perfect example of the ingenuity that can result from a passionate community. It was not conceived of in a boardroom by executives, nor in a sterile lab by scientists. Instead, it was the loyal customers of Yunnan Baiyao who helped create this marvellous product.
In the early 2000s, the Yunnan Baiyao Group received some surprising information.

The Group was already famous for the incredible efficacy of the herbal formula, Yunnan Baiyao, and theassociated medicated products, but reports of consumers mixing Yunnan Baiyao into their toothpaste or applying it directly to gums were unexpected. The Group looked into these reports and research soon showed that not only could Yunnan Baiyao stop gums from bleeding, it also improved gum health and helped prevent gingivitis.
In 2005, the Group launched the first Yunnan Baiyao toothpaste. The slogan “An extraordinary toothpaste” (非一般牙膏) paid tribute to the astonishing effectiveness of the main active ingredient: Yunnan Baiyao. After years of research and formulation, we had produced a toothpaste that merged the best of Chinese heritage with modern technology. Premium ingredients work in tandem with our proprietary Yunnan Baiyao to create a functional toothpaste that effectively treats bleeding, painful and swollen gums, mouth ulcers and other gum problems.
The toothpaste was a success, filling a much needed gap in the Chinese domestic market for prophylactic toothpaste that works. However, we soon faced challenges. The increased demand meant that production had to be ramped up, and we had to ensure that despite the uptick in volume, the quality and efficacy of the toothpaste remained consistent.
We were also not content to rest on our laurels. We had a product on our hands that we were confident would improve the health of millions, if not billions, of consumers. We had to bring this benefit to them. Therefore, we expanded overseas in 2012.
We brought our product to the Hong Kong, America and Singapore markets, and our hard work and dedication have borne fruit. By 2016, Yunnan Baiyao toothpaste was a household name in China, second only to Darlie. In our overseas markets, we cultivated a loyal fanbase that achieved improved gum health due to our product. Now, our toothpastes are sold in major supermarkets in Singapore, a foothold in the market that we will leverage for further growth and expansion.
